Live well help

I need some advice. I've got a '03 stratos, 285 pro, and i noticed last fri. Night the live well would not hold water, unless i was fishing, i turned the switch to recir, and auto, several times, it would still empty, even if i was using the trolling motor fast. When i loaded up, i pulled the plug, and hardly no water ran out, so it's going back in to the lake. Is this something i can look at, or do i need to take it a shop??? Tr

Sounds like the valve is staying open. Could be the wire to it has come off or is broke. I would start by looking there. Locate the valve and have someone turn the knob while you watch the valve for movement.

If it's staying open, the water that comes in while you're stopped/fishing is running back out while you're on plane.
