East Fork Crappie

Fished last Sat evening for crappie. Found them on mainlake points with laydowns and on channel bank bends. Caught around 70, seven keepers. Caught them on jigs 4-20' down in 8-23' of water. Lots of boat traffic, being on the mainlake, we rocked and rocked.

Me and my father in law got there around 4 and the wind was horrible. 2 footers on mainlake. After about an hour the wind started laying down we caught 4 keepers across from Bantam ramp on laydowns. Fishing was slow. When they slowed down there we hit another mainlake laydown around 6:30 and they started turning on. We ended up with 17 keepers. Biggest was around 11". I was catching a crappie on every cast. Black/chart 1/16 oz jig, casting towards the bank. I am guessing the fish were 4-5' deep. We didn't run back into any creeks, not enough daylight. It was pretty slow until it got later in the evening.

Went to EFL last nite. Fished from 5-7pm. Caught around 50 or so, but I had 28 keepers. Biggest was around 11".
Had 10 over 10", again mainlake laydowns on creek channel bank.
