Default sea trout savannah

LAST EDITED ON Jun-15-06 AT 10:25PM (EST)[p]Bait has been hard to come by the shrimp just are not in the marinas. What are some suggestions of artificial lures to try and how do you fish them? Area near St Catherine's sound and inshore. Appreciate the help! If you know any honey holes that would help also. New to this. Used to crappie freshwater fishing.

Get you a 5 foot cast net and learn how to use it. Hit the tidal creeks at low tide and throw at skittering water movements (shrimp). Put them in an areated container and get on out to your favorite drop. Small live mullet are good too. OWR

If you are still fishing St Cat try the mouth of Newel Creek. On the left bank as you go in the creek you will see a small cut.Anchor about 50 ft up and fish out going tide.
As for artificial lures I used a green screw tail with a red head.Always had good luck trolling with it close to bank.
Good luck.

I cant say about Svannah but on the gulf around Biloxie to New Orleans they use small spooks and skitterpops early and a wild looking grunb during the day. They also catch them on Rattle Traps. I have caugfht Blues off the coats in teh fall on the rattle trap in Charleston so it may work. Just a suggestion, F2W
