not a bite?? thats brutal...i tried about everything except main lake points..i found shad up in some pockets but no largemouth around...caught hybrids and white bass around the shad. caught one lonely little largemouth in the middle of nowhere...someone had to have had a better day...too many boats for someone to not get a pattern

a couple of them looked an awful lot like a hybrid to me, but apparently i'm mistaken then. there were all whites then...either way, if i could go back and do over on saturday, i would have tried to cover as much ground as possible instead of working it a little slow like i did.

Fished Patoka today. Water was 54 degrees and very clear - 3 to 4 foot visibility. Good chop to the water with the steady wind. Caught 4 keepers but had to work for them. Nice day to be out as I was one of three boats on the water and it wasn't cold. Rain started late in the day and I headed out. Saw a lot of deer too.

Fished Patoka again today. Morning water temp was 49 and I knew I was in trouble with the high skies. Temp eventually warmed up to the 54 range but I struggled, only catching 4 shorties. Beautiful day to be out though. Saw two eagles and more deer. Heard a lot of shots today. Must have been a good day to be a deer hunter. Water still way up and super clear.

Embry...a lake can't really turn over multiple times in quick succession. Strictly speaking, the turnover is the rapid equalization of water temperature, from top to bottom, usually brought about by the top layer sinking. This usually stirs up a bunch of muck from the bottom.
So, in other words, the lake temperature can't become "more equal". Equal is equal. What people are probably referring to is the muck from the bottom. If some of it made it to the surface, perhaps someone thought of that moment as a turnover, then when they saw more a couple days later, they considered it another turnover. |
