Has anyone been fishing strip pits lately? After bass fishing this summer, I went to the Cloverdale area Wednesday for some easy pan fishing from the bank, hoping to find some keepers. I caught some medium size bluegill at about 2 - 3 ft. deep. Anyone have any other experiences to share?

I went strip pit fishing two times in the past three weeks near Cloverdale and Brazil areas. We were catching 5" - 7" in about two feet of water....slow bites....some jigs some live bait. Most of the gills were even close to the bank. For sport, the nice bass the pits are known for weren't biting at all...at least for us.
