Etec,after 3 years??

I own a 2005 ETEC 225 HO. I did have the lower unit go out and it was a known, so I was told, issue with the 225's that the lower unit was not strong enough to hold up. So they (Evinrude) are replacing them with the lower unit on the 250 HO's. Have not had any other issue though (knock on wood)!

the FICHTs were the worst motor that evinrude ever made..you can ask any dealer that an theyll tell you the same,but theyve got there motors fixed now for sure...ive fished out of many boats with all different engines but ive always been an etec fan and always will

I have a 2000 FICHT that I bought new and it's still running great. The only thing I have done is replace the starter!
